Statement on demonstration against antisemitism in Parliament SquarePosted Mon, 03/26/2018 - 11:20 by MCS
As Christians and Jews, we declare our full solidarity with all those who are demonstrating against antisemitism in Parliament Square this evening. Wherever in society it arises and whoever allows it space, antisemitism is abhorrent and must be identified and eradicated. We are deeply concerned at attempts by some to silence the Jewish community’s response to this issue. CCJ was founded in 1942 as the world began to wake up to the reality of the persecution and destruction of European Jewry. We know where centuries of anti-Judaism and antisemitism has led in the past. We also know of the transforming power of partnership and fellowship in challenging hate. Enough is enough: it is time for antisemitism to be unequivocally erased and it is essential that all our communities work together to make this a reality.
